For the last four years I've been building storefront themes, landing pages and checkouts for an e-commerce platform. Before that I worked nearly ten years in operations and customer support, which is why I always think about the person using the page, not just the code.

About

I didn't start in tech. I ran a customer service team in Bucharest and was the go-to person when our ERP misbehaved. In 2020 I taught myself front-end, and in 2022 I joined Marbill, where I now work in a team of four front-end developers.

What I like most about e-commerce is how quickly you see the result: a faster checkout or a clearer campaign page shows up in the numbers almost right away. That's also why I enjoy working closely with marketing. I'm usually the one who turns their ideas into pages we can ship, and the numbers tell us both what worked.

  1. Front-End Developer · Marbill Technologies

    Jun 2022 – Present · Marbella

    • Developed and maintained 10+ custom storefront themes for a growing e-commerce subscription platform with a high volume of monthly orders.
    • Turned Figma designs into clean, fast-loading pages with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), Bootstrap 5 and Twig (a templating language similar to Shopify's Liquid).
    • Shipped 100+ landing pages and promo campaigns with the design and marketing teams, often with tight launch dates.
    • Built the product, cart, checkout and subscription pages, making them easier to use on mobile and quicker to buy from.
    • Improved page speed and mobile layouts: lighter images, fewer layout shifts and better Core Web Vitals scores.
    • Coded responsive HTML email templates for order, shipping and marketing emails.
    • Created small JavaScript tools that help the content team translate and check pages across our multi-language storefronts.
    • Worked with marketing to turn campaign ideas into clear development tasks, and helped plan our sprints in Jira.
    • Used AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Gemini, ChatGPT) to speed up my daily work, mostly for boilerplate, first drafts of tests and quick refactors.

    Two years teaching myself front-end, from my first HTML page to full Vue apps.

    • Built and deployed responsive web apps with Vue 3 (Composition API, Pinia, Vue Router), Tailwind CSS and Firebase.

    Promoted in 2012 after a year as Customer Service Specialist.

    • Led the customer service team: planned the daily work, set priorities and dealt with issues as they came up, much like working in sprints today.
    • Main power user for Microsoft Dynamics AX (ERP/CRM): helped roll out a system upgrade, tested the new workflows, wrote the process documentation and trained colleagues.
    • Tracked sales metrics and inventory forecasts with the Country Manager and delivered weekly operational updates.
